TL;DR

Whet Travel has launched Shattered Shores, a new pop-punk and emo cruise headlined by 3OH!3, New Found Glory, and Cobra Starship. The four-day sailing departs September 9-13, 2027, aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber with a stop in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The event grew out of Whet Travel's Taking Back Emo events and features partnerships with Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and other alternative music veterans.

Whet Travel, the company behind Groove Cruise, has announced Shattered Shores, a new music cruise dedicated to emo, pop-punk, and alternative music. The inaugural four-day sailing departs September 9-13, 2027, aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, with a port stop at Taino Bay in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Headliners and Full Lineup

3OH!3, New Found Glory, and Cobra Starship top the bill, with Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup joining as a special guest. The roster digs deep into 2000s and 2010s alternative rock and emo pop, featuring Breathe Carolina, Cartel, Hey Monday, The Summer Set, MOD SUN, nothing, nowhere., Stand Atlantic, and Plain White T's.

Also on the initial lineup: Hot Chelle Rae, Millington, LOLO, Driveways, Charlotte Sands, Winona Fighter, As December Falls, Chandler Leighton, Diva Bleach, Like Roses, Not My Weekend, Action/Adventure, SuckerPunch!, Four Year Strong, Broadside, DAVVN, and Public Works. Organizers say more artists, collaborations, and onboard experiences will be announced.

From Taking Back Emo to a Standalone Event

Shattered Shores grew out of Whet Travel's Taking Back Emo events and alternative-leaning takeovers on past Groove Cruise sailings, both of which found a built-in audience. The new cruise formalizes that demand into its own standalone event, aimed at fans who came up on Warped Tour and early-2010s alt radio.

The sailing takes place on the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, which Whet Travel is billing as home to the first artist-designed live music venue built specifically for a cruise ship. The vessel also houses what is described as the world's largest 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar and new Bridge Wing Suites with outdoor living spaces.

Warped Tour Veterans Join Forces

The project is led by Managing Director John Skeeter Porrata, with backing from Whet Travel founder and CEO Jason Beukema. Whet Travel has been running music cruises since 2004 and has produced more than 60 sailings under brands including Groove Cruise, Motorboat, Zen Cruise, Salsa Cruise, and Groove Island.

Shattered Shores is partnering with Idobi Summer School Festival and So What? Music Festival for exclusive hosted experiences onboard. That collaboration brings in Kevin Lyman, founder of Warped Tour; Eric Tobin, artist manager and co-founder of Hopeless Records; Michael Kaminsky, founder of KMGMT; and Mike Ziemer, co-founder of So What? Music Festival.

Staterooms for the inaugural sailing are on sale now through Whet Travel's booking site. Full lineup details and future announcements are being posted at shatteredshores.com.
