TL;DR

AC Slater's Night Bass will host its final show at Sound Nightclub on December 3, 2026, ending a nearly 13-year residency that began in January 2014. The Hollywood club night, which launched as a home for bass house, UK garage, bassline and grime, evolved into Night Bass Records in 2015. While the Sound residency is ending, the label will continue and focus on supporting newer artists.

From Monthly Club Night to Record Label

AC Slater launched Night Bass at Sound Nightclub in January 2014 as a monthly home for bass house, UK garage, bassline and grime—sounds that had limited representation in American clubs at the time. The Hollywood venue became the testing ground for a concept that would expand into Night Bass Records the following year.

Early bookings connected UK artists with Los Angeles audiences, with Chris Lorenzo, Taiki Nulight, Hannah Wants, Shift K3Y, DJ EZ and MJ Cole among the early guests. Within its first year, the club night had already expanded beyond Los Angeles through a North American tour.

The Label Launch and EDC Las Vegas Stage

In 2015, AC Slater transformed the club night into Night Bass Records. The label debuted with This Is Night Bass Vol. 1 on June 30, featuring music from AC Slater, Chris Lorenzo, Jack Beats, DJ Q, Taiki Nulight, Petey Clicks, Jay Robinson and GotSome. AC Slater later explained that he wanted the first release to represent the music the club night had already been supporting.

That same year, Night Bass hosted a stage at EDC Las Vegas, bringing the Sound Nightclub residency's sonic identity to a much larger festival audience. The label continued releasing bass house, UK garage, bassline, grime and house in the years that followed, while the original Los Angeles night remained closely connected to where the project began.

Residency Ends, Label Continues

The team has made it clear that the record label itself will continue beyond the December 3 finale. In a message shared ahead of the public announcement, Night Bass said ending the residency will allow more attention to go toward the label and supporting newer artists within its community.

The final event will bring the club night back to the venue where AC Slater first launched it in 2014, with Night Bass All-Stars playing throughout the evening. After nearly 13 years at Sound Nightclub, the December show will close the original Los Angeles residency while Night Bass Records continues beyond it.
