Afrojack has joined MIND Us, a Dutch mental health nonprofit, as an official ambassador. The organization works to normalize conversations around mental health for young people, and the producer—whose real name is Nick van de Wall—will use his platform to help break the stigma around mental health struggles and encourage the next generation to speak openly and seek support.
Back to School program targets students and teachers
The chart-topping Take Over Control producer is set to visit his former high school as part of MIND Us' Back to School program next year, where he will speak with students and teachers about mental health, pressure, expectations and setbacks, according to the nonprofit.
Frederieke Vriends, Director of MIND Us, said young people look up to people they admire. When well-known role models are open about their own experiences, it can help make the conversation about mental health easier. With Nick, we want to show that mental health is part of life. Just like with your physical health, you can pay attention to it before problems arise.
Panel discussion at Amsterdam Dance Event addresses industry pressures
The announcement, which came on World Mental Health Day, arrived prior to an appearance at the 2026 Amsterdam Dance Event, where Afrojack and MIND Us hosted a panel discussion titled Mental Growth Behind the Music in Amsterdam. Joining him were Dutch artists JODANI and Lucas & Steve for a candid conversation about the pressures of life in the music industry.
Afrojack is currently on his Control Tour, a North American run that continues through the fall before wrapping in Seattle on November 28.
