Bass-Heavy House for Hot Creations
Afrojack has brought his Kapuchon alias to Hot Creations with "Secret Moves," a bass-heavy house cut built around a single looping groove. The track lets gradual shifts in arrangement drive the energy, with a brief vocal chop surfacing just before the drop to create a fleeting moment of tension before the low end takes over again.
A Decade-Old Alias Finds New Momentum
The Kapuchon alias dates back over a decade and was built as a home for Afrojack's club-oriented material across house and techno. After lying relatively quiet for several years, the project was reignited in 2020 with "10 Years Later" and the launch of the Kapuchon Records imprint. Since then, unreleased Kapuchon tracks have earned support from the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Anyma, Dom Dolla, and John Summit.
From Ultra Mainstage to Intimate Club Rooms
"Secret Moves" lands during an especially active stretch for the project. Earlier this year, Afrojack opened the Ultra Music Festival mainstage as Kapuchon before returning later that day for a full Afrojack set. In April, he performed a B2B with Shimza at Coachella's Quasar stage, while a seven-date North American club tour in March brought the alias to intimate rooms like Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles, Refuge in Brooklyn, and StereoBar in Montreal.
The single follows his collaboration with Miss Monique and GLZ, "Hot Sauce," released on AETERNA Records in May, and his Black Book Records single, "Control," with Lucas & Steve in March. For Kapuchon, landing on Hot Creations adds another marker to a run that has increasingly separated the alias from the festival-grade Afrojack brand.
