Amnesia Ibiza Marks 50 Years With 24-Hour Opening Party

By Matt White

Amnesia Ibiza launched its 50th anniversary season with a 24-hour opening party that spanned three venues. The club, a fixture of Ibiza's underground scene since 1976, kicked off the milestone year under the banner "50 Years of Dancing: Ibiza Changed. We Didn't."

Marathon Opening Across Three Venues

The celebration began with a warm-up at Cova-Santa before shifting to Amnesia for a 12-hour set. Josh Baker and Joseph Capriati closed the iconic terrace at midday. The party wrapped with an open-invite after-party at Es Paradis, a deliberate move away from Ibiza's exclusive villa culture in favor of the inclusive community spirit that has defined the club for five decades.

Martin Ferrer, Amnesia's CEO and Artistic Director, reflected on the opening: "The opening was a true manifestation of the spirit of Amnesia. The dancing, the energy — it felt like a party from 20 years ago. Those nights are the reason we do this; they're the reason why we're still here."

Weekly Residencies and Summer Programming

The anniversary season features a mix of returning favorites and new debuts. Mondays host Kettama's Steel City through June and July, followed by Ben Hemsley's NRG in August and September. Tuesdays bring back Joseph Capriati's Metamorfosi, with guests including Yanamaste and Ben Klock in the Main Room.

Wednesday nights belong to Resistance, led by Adam Beyer, Artbat, Boris Brejcha, and Eric Prydz. Thursdays debut Josh Baker's You&Me brand, while Fridays welcome Glitterbox's Amnesia debut alongside Rememberland. Saturdays see the return of Bresh with its reggaeton and pop blend, and Sundays close with Pyramid featuring Jeff Mills, Fumiya Tanaka, and Richie Hawtin, plus historic back-to-back sets from Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano.

Special Events and One-Offs

Beyond the weekly residencies, the summer calendar includes Jean-Michel Jarre making his Ibiza debut, a free rooftop rave hosted by Marlon Hoffstadt, and the return of the iconic foam party for one night only. Classic brands like Hacienda 51—bringing a live orchestra to the terrace—Cocoon, Godskitchen, Teletech, and Universo Makina round out the season.

Full event lineups and tickets are available at amnesia.es. The 50th anniversary season runs throughout the summer.
