Armin van Buuren and Silver Panda Rework Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence'

Armin van Buuren and Silver Panda have released 'Here In My Arms (Enjoy The Silence),' a melodic techno reinterpretation of Depeche Mode's 1990 synth-rock classic. The original track remains the influential band's best-selling single and recently entered Spotify's billion-stream club.

Festival-tested melodic techno treatment

Out now via van Buuren's Armada imprint, the collaboration layers propulsive drums and atmospheric synth textures beneath the song's familiar melancholy. Van Buuren brings his signature sense of scale while the rising Silver Panda duo infuse their pulsating sound, crafting a track that honors Depeche Mode's original songwriting while pushing it toward the tempos and textures now dominating EDM festivals.

The track had already been road-tested on a slew of those stages after Armin dropped it during his DJ sets at EDC Las Vegas, Ultra, Coachella and his own A State Of Trance festivals in Rotterdam, Poland, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Part of a long rework tradition

The release continues a long history of van Buuren reworking classic tracks, a practice that has become something of a signature move over his career. He released an official remix of Faithless' 'We Come 1' back in 2015 before reimagining Human Resource's 'Dominator' a year later and Van Halen's 'Jump' in 2019.
