Armin van Buuren recorded a special A State of Trance radio show at The Loft in Amsterdam, returning to the venue nearly exactly where he launched the program 25 years ago. The anniversary broadcast featured a set packed with trance classics that have defined the genre over the past quarter-century.
A Show for the Fans
Opening the broadcast, Armin addressed the crowd with a reminder of the show's roots. "Your feedback is what shaped this radio show and a state of trance is not just my radio show, it's a show for the fans and in many ways by the fans," he said. The set included tracks from Motorcycle's 'As the Rush Comes' (W&W mix), 'U' mixed with 'Concrete Angel', a Cafe Del Mar remix, and 'Ramsterdam', alongside recent fan favorites like 'U Got to Know', 'Always You', and 'Your Love is a Drug'. Armin also gave special mention to the DJs and producers who have helped shape the radio show over the years.
25th Anniversary Festival Dates
A State of Trance continues its 25th anniversary celebrations with festival stops in Asia. On June 12, the event lands at Asia World Expo Hall in Hong Kong, where Armin will be joined by Billy Gillies, Laura Van Dam, Ruben De Ronde, and a surprise back-to-back guest. The following day, June 13, the festival moves to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with Ferry Corsten (Gouryella), Cosmic Gate, Nifra, Ruben De Ronde, and another special surprise joining Armin for a back-to-back set.
The anniversary tour marks a full-circle moment for one of trance music's longest-running institutions, bringing the celebration from its Amsterdam birthplace to stages across Asia.
