A Return to the Classic Alias
Rising Star is one of Armin van Buuren's foundational aliases, born at the turn of the millennium when the Dutch producer was just beginning to shape the global electronic landscape. Back in 1999—around the same time he launched his label Armind—Armin used the Rising Star moniker to explore a deeper, more ethereal, and melodically driven side of trance production. Tracks released under this name, such as the timeless classic 'Touch Me', became defining anthems of the early club era.
Deeper Trance, Higher BPM
Over the years, Armin van Buuren has selectively revived his historic aliases—most notably splitting his sound between deep underground explorations like Gaia and pure, emotive trance under Rising Star. Whenever the Rising Star project returns, it signals a deliberate step away from commercial radio sounds and a direct homecoming to the golden era of emotional, 138-to-140-BPM trance.
Extended Breakdown and Fresh Vocals
The remix features an extended track with a longer breakdown; it adds another trance melody following the first chorus. The melody continues during the song into the drop. The additional trance melody pushes the Rising Star remix to 140 BPM. With the vocals of Poppy Baskomb, it gives a fresh take on the Red Hot Chilli Peppers classic.
The Rising Star remix of 'Take Me Home' arrived one week after the original single release.
