AVELLO and Jordin Sparks Release 'We Own the Night'

From Pop to Peak-Time

AVELLO has released a new single with chart-topping pop artist Jordin Sparks, titled 'We Own the Night.' The track marks Sparks' first official dance release and is out now via Breakaway Projects.

Sparks, the Grammy-nominated singer behind 'No Air' who won American Idol's sixth season in 2007 at just 17 years old, brings vocals that capture the end of a long workday. Her lyrics sing, "It's you and me / We're young and free" as AVELLO builds driving percussion and a groove designed for peak-time dancefloor moments around her performance.

Building the Track

The collaboration began when Sparks sent AVELLO vocals she had been working on. "Back in March, Jordin sent me some vocals she'd been working on and asked me to see where I could take them," AVELLO explained. "The second I heard them, I knew there was something special there. I immediately started building around the vocal and leaned into making it feel like a big festival anthem. Within a couple days, I had the first draft together. From there, we went back and forth on a few details, dialed everything in, and ended up with something we're both really excited about."

Live Debut and Festival Run

AVELLO previewed the collaboration during his April set at WAKAAN ROCKS at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where it served as a standout of the night. The EDM.com Class of 2026 artist has won EDMAs for Best New Artist and Breakout Remixer of the Year this year, with a run of major festival performances through the rest of 2026 including Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, Lost Lands and EDC Orlando.

Sparks' recent foray into electronic music was punctuated by an appearance at Austin's ILLfest during NGHTMRE's set, and while she has a collaboration with him in the works, 'We Own the Night' is her first proper release in the genre. The single is available now on streaming platforms.
