From Solo Outlet to Platform for Bass Music's Next Wave
Barely Alive has transformed Killed It! from a vehicle for their own releases into a full artist platform, enlisting Vishal Bhanderi—NIGHTMODE's director of label operations and former A&R and label manager at Disciple—to lead the expansion. The label's first multi-artist release, Killed It! Vol. 1, is out now with 18 tracks spanning ascendant producers and established names across the brostep spectrum.
Compilation Highlights Sonic Contrast and Genre Heritage
The compilation opens with Barely Alive and Cyclops on "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DUBSTEP," built around eccentric vocal samples and heavy sound design. French producer Bizo contributes "Good Times," pairing spirited piano progressions with distorted synth barrages in a nod to the genre's formative era. The tracklist reflects powerful sonic contrast, from the soaring, gamified melodies of rickster's "aimbot" to the stomping kick-snare sequencing of Ganimed's "Skill Check."
Busy Festival Season Follows Headline Tour
The compilation follows a packed year for Barely Alive. The duo wrapped their "OVERDRIVE" headline tour earlier in 2026 and released the 100% NO AI EP, which featured Ragga Twins, PAV4N, and TYNAN. They've maintained a full festival schedule this summer, including a back-to-back set with Kompany at Rampage Open Air in Belgium and an upcoming appearance at Excision's "High Roller" event in Denver.
Killed It! Vol. 1 is available on streaming platforms now.
