TL;DR

BIJOU and Tchami have released "6AM," a deep house collaboration featuring vocalist MKLA, out via BIJOU's Do Not Duplicate Recordings. The track originated from a demo session in Phoenix and was developed over several months, receiving early support from Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, and Nicky Romero on their radio shows.

From Phoenix Demo to Label Collaboration

The first version of "6AM" played through a car stereo in Phoenix. BIJOU had just come off a tour stop alongside Tchami and Night Bass founder AC Slater, and was running through unreleased demos when the track came on. Slater called it before anyone else did: this one needed Tchami.

They spent the following months passing versions back and forth, building the track around MKLA's writing and vocals. The collaboration puts two label worlds in the same room, BIJOU's DND RECS and Tchami's Confession.

A Shift Toward Deep House

What lands is closer to deep house than most of BIJOU's catalog, reverb-washed and faintly futuristic with MKLA's wistful topline set to the late hour from which the track takes its name. The Toronto-born vocalist marks his first appearance on a record with the influential Parisian house music producer.

Early Radio Support

"6AM" had a life on the dancefloor long before its official release. The track received spins from Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens and Nicky Romero on each producer's official radio shows.

"6AM" is out now via Do Not Duplicate Recordings on streaming services.
