Two Stages and Four Genres in Genting Highlands
BLAK Festival will take over Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands on January 30, 2027, for its first outdoor edition. The event, produced by Evolution Events Asia, marks a shift from the indoor arena format that launched the brand in Kuala Lumpur in 2025. Two stages will host trance, techno, hard techno, and hardstyle across the mountain resort venue.
Chris Liebing and Sam Paganini anchor the techno side of the lineup, while Kander, ONLYNUMBERS, Svetec, and The Saints represent hard techno. Phuture Noize and The Straikerz continue the festival's hardstyle thread, which has been present since BLAK's debut.
Trance Joins the Lineup for the First Time
Cosmic Gate and Gareth Emery bring trance to BLAK for the first time, broadening the festival's genre reach beyond its harder roots. Darren Styles, known for his work across UK hardcore and hardstyle, also joins the bill.
The regional lineup includes Ashley Lau, Mr. Yang, Alam, Dora, Fenrick, Meliah, Meliha, Negitiv, ODD, Victor G, and Wesufo, giving Southeast Asian artists a stronger presence across both stages.
From Arena Concept to Outdoor Festival
BLAK launched at Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur in 2025 as a hard techno and hardstyle concept. A second edition followed in 2026 at XOX Arena, The Arch Galeries, featuring 999999999, Fatima Hajji, AZYR, NIKOLINA, KLOFAMA, Joshua Dillon, and SUHSI. Those indoor events established the brand within the harder end of the electronic music scene across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Australia.
Evolution Events Asia has worked across hard techno, hardstyle, and trance in the region for years, including events like We Are On The Mission Bangkok and projects supporting the growth of harder styles in Southeast Asia. The outdoor edition in Genting Highlands represents the largest and most genre-diverse iteration of BLAK to date.
