Carl Cox Releases 'Legacy' Remix from 2026 Ibiza Residency

From Sunrise Set to Official Release

Carl Cox has released his remix of Vikthor and Pianoalani's 'Legacy,' a track that emerged as one of the defining moments of his 2026 summer residency at UNVRS. The rework became a fixture during sunrise sets on Monday mornings as the sun climbed over San Rafael.

The techno legend spent the summer DJing his second consecutive season at the 20,000-capacity Ibiza venue, which was named the best club of 2025 in EDM.com's list of the year's top industry leaders. The original track had already established a strong connection with club-goers on the island before Cox took it into the studio.

Amplifying Energy While Preserving Emotion

Cox chose to dial up the original melody's energy rather than abandoning it, bridging elements of melodic techno, progressive house and trance. "The original already had a feeling that people connected with, particularly in those sunrise moments," Cox said. "The challenge was keeping that emotion while giving the record enough power and movement to work in my own sets."

The remix is officially available on streaming platforms via Intec, the influential record label Cox founded in 1998 and re-launched last year after an indefinite hiatus in 2020.
