Charlotte de Witte is bringing an expanded version of her The Resistance audiovisual show to Belgium's Rock Werchter festival this Friday, July 3rd. The Belgian techno artist has described the performance as an XXL version of the touring production, with preparations reportedly underway for three weeks ahead of the show.
20,000-Capacity Tent Performance
Attendees inside The Barn, Rock Werchter's 20,000-capacity tent, will experience what de Witte calls something never done before. While The Resistance has been touring across Europe to strong reception, the home country appearance is shaping up to be a different scale entirely. She has shared early footage from previous The Resistance dates as a preview of what to expect.
Collaboration with Johanna Jaskowska
The show's immersive visual component was developed in collaboration with Johanna Jaskowska, a digital artist and creative technologist known for her work at the intersection of technology and visual culture. Jaskowska's practice spans viral AR experiences, AI, CGI, and speculative digital worlds.
Tour Dates and 2026 Activity
After Rock Werchter, The Resistance tour continues through Les Ardentes, Bilbao BBK in Spain, V and B Festival and Pagaille Festival in France. The world premiere took place at [unvrs] Ibiza, followed by We Love Green in Paris and Sonar Festival. The Rock Werchter show comes during a busy stretch for de Witte in 2026. Earlier this year she drew massive crowds to a street party in Genova, released her EP Amor, and dropped a deluxe version of her album.
