First Full-Length After 14 Years
Cloonee has revealed his debut album, Are You Still You?, a 16-track collection releasing October 6 on his own label, Hellbent Records. The announcement continues another big year for the British house music producer, whose late-July single "Good Girl" (with Prospa) reached the top spot on Beatport shortly after its release.
Reconciling Past, Present, and Future Sounds
Cloonee said the album grew out of a tension he has heard from fans for years: some asking him to return to his earlier sound, others pushing him toward something new, and still others simply wanting whatever he is making now.
"One comment I've seen throughout my career is, 'Bring back the old Cloonee,'" he said in a statement. "The funny thing though, there's an equal amount of people that ask for a different Cloonee, this Cloonee and that Cloonee. Plus, let's not forget the current Cloonee. I've always taken these comments as a compliment. It's part of career longevity to move with the times, and to connect and grow with people at many different phases of your journey."
Rather than picking one version of himself to present, Cloonee said he built the album around all of them. "With this album, I want to give you every Cloonee," he added. "An ode to myself. The old me, the current me, the new me and everything in between. Because, when I ask myself, 'Are you still you?' the answer is a proud yes."
What's Next
Further details about the album, including its full tracklist and list of collaborators, will be revealed in the weeks ahead. Fans can pre-save Are You Still You? now ahead of its October 6 release.
