A 23-year-old man from the Manchester area has been sentenced to 32 months in prison after attempting to smuggle drugs into Creamfields in an ill-fated concealment scheme. Imaad Choudry pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and appeared in court on June 26, 2026.
Detection and Arrest at Festival Entrance
The incident occurred on August 24, 2025, when Choudry attempted to enter the UK festival. A drug-detection dog flagged him at the entrance, prompting security to escort him to a private area. Choudry admitted to concealing the substances, and authorities recovered 14 bags of cocaine and nine MDMA tablets with an estimated street value between £640 and £800, roughly $855 to $1,068 USD.
Police Constable Lisa Green noted the speed of the detection. "Choudry thought that he could outsmart officers by hiding his illegal drugs in his anus, however he seriously underestimated the capabilities of our four-legged colleagues who took just seconds to sniff him out," she said.
Part of Wider Festival Enforcement
Choudry's arrest was one of 43 made by Cheshire Police during Creamfields 2025, with 186 crimes reported across the festival weekend. The department has maintained a visible enforcement presence at the annual event, which draws tens of thousands to Cheshire's Daresbury Estate.
The 2026 edition of Creamfields returns to the same venue from August 27-30, with Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, and Alesso among the headliners.
