Daft Punk's "Veridis Quo" Gets Medieval Bardcore Treatment

French bardcore band Courseval has turned Daft Punk's "Veridis Quo" into a medieval-style cover, swapping the electronic duo's synthesizers and programmed beats for lute and organic woodwind arrangements. The track originally appeared on Daft Punk's 2001 album Discovery.

From Synths to Strings

Courseval strips away the danceable electronic production of "Veridis Quo" and rebuilds it around flowing, period-appropriate instrumentation. The original track's darkened keys and haunting organ tones translate naturally to the medieval treatment, making it a strong candidate for the bardcore style.

Filmed at a Historic Normandy Estate

The band recorded a performance video at the Château de Martinvast, a historic estate and public garden in the Cotentin region of Normandy. The scenic setting adds a layer of authenticity to the centuries-spanning musical experiment.

Since launching their YouTube channel a year ago, Courseval has covered modern pop hits including Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club," Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," Harry Styles' "As It Was," and Rihanna's "Umbrella." The "Veridis Quo" cover is available now.
