A Statement Single Built on Bass and Swagger
Danny Blu has released "Type," the lead single from his upcoming EP, out July 27. The track centers on a heavy bassline and lyrics that explore power dynamics through wit, intelligence, and sexuality. Blu describes the song as his most confident work to date, building on the dark pop and industrial noise aesthetic he has developed over the past few years.
Collaborators and Creative Vision
The forthcoming EP features production from Moris Blak and Brand0, with vocals by Ryan Schumer, mixing by Thomas Warren, and mastering by Mike Piacentini. According to Blu, the project explores themes of rebellion, grief, sex, and reckless abandon, wrapped in visual references to queer mythology and horror imagery. His sound has drawn comparisons to Poppy, Nine Inch Nails, and IAMX.
Tour Dates Follow Release
Blu will support the release with a short East Coast run starting July 30 in Brooklyn, followed by Philadelphia on July 31 and Richmond on August 1. The EP and single arrive July 27.
