Four Voices, Four Continents
The track moves through languages and genres the way the World Cup moves through continents. Andrea Bocelli opens in his trademark Italian grandeur before the song shifts into English, then into Korean as EJAE delivers lyrics that reference her childhood memory of Seoul uniting during the 2002 World Cup. Megan Thee Stallion brings a rap verse and David Guetta's production threads a euphoric, dance-driven current to capture the communal feel of the tournament.
"It's more than just a game, it's our DNA," the chorus declares. With four voices from four corners of the world, it is hard to argue.
Bocelli on the Collaboration
"The title of the song 'DNA' says everything," said Bocelli, who performed the track alongside EJAE at the opening ceremony in Mexico City. "Football has been in my life for as long as I can remember, and will always hold a very special place in my heart. To be invited to sing the anthem of the FIFA World Cup and to participate in the opening ceremony is an honor that moves me deeply. It also fills me with immense joy and gratitude, to return to Mexico City, a city that has received me with such extraordinary warmth. And to sing on the Official Anthem alongside EJAE, Megan and David Guetta is a collaboration I will truly treasure."
Largest World Cup in History
