DJ Dies at Love Is a Stranger Festival in Ireland

Police are investigating the death of a DJ who passed away early Sunday morning at Love Is a Stranger, an Irish music festival held at Ballyvolane House in Cork. The man, in his 30s, was found unresponsive in his tent at the historic Georgian country house venue.

Emergency Response and Festival Cancellation

Emergency responders attempted CPR at the scene but were unable to revive the DJ, who was pronounced dead shortly afterward. The festival, which began Friday and was scheduled to conclude Sunday, saw its final day canceled after organizers learned of the death. Gardaí, Ireland's national police service, has not yet revealed the man's identity.

According to the Irish Examiner, the DJ was "well known and respected in the electronic music scene" in Cork. Love Is a Stranger is billed as a "roaming intimate festival series" by Another Love Story, a promoter known for staging intimate gatherings in unconventional settings across Ireland. Now in its second year, the three-day event blends electronic, folk and indie music with a broader program of cultural experiences.

A spokesperson for the festival said in a statement, "As a small team, we are absolutely devastated to learn of the death of a festival attendee at Love is a Stranger today. Our thoughts are with the individual's family, friends, and loved ones at this extremely difficult time."
