Techno and Fast House Take Center Stage
More than 40 artists are making their EDC Orlando debuts this year, many of them representing the European techno and fast house movements that have been migrating from clubs to festival main stages. Berlin's Klangkuenstler and Dutch DJ KI/KI, whose fusion of trance, techno and acid has carried her from Amsterdam's queer club scene to festival stages worldwide, both play Sunday.
Marlon Hoffstadt, the Berlin DJ behind the trance-tinged hit "It's That Time," plays a Sunday sunset set two days after his frequent back-to-back partner MALUGI brings his breakneck, UK-influenced fast house to Friday's golden hour. Brunello, Interplanetary Criminal and HAYLA are also among the genre-spanning debuts taking place this weekend.
Berlin Rave Energy in the Back-to-Back Sets
Perhaps the most intriguing pairing is Boys Noize b2b Brutalismus 3000 on Sunday, bringing two debuting acts and a heavy dose of Berlin rave energy to Tinker Field. An hour later, Deorro and DJ Diesel will team up for what might be the rowdiest set of the festival. On Saturday, Black Tiger Sex Machine and Kai Wachi join forces as Skull Machine, their collaborative project, while Luke Dean and George Smeddles share a sunset set for the UK house lovers.
Hotel EDC Comes to the East Coast
For the first time on the East Coast, Insomniac is bringing its Hotel EDC concept to Orlando, taking over Margaritaville Resort Orlando at Sunset Walk. Every room is outfitted with EDC-themed decor, and daytime programming includes pool parties, morning meditation and yoga, a glam station for getting rave-ready, roaming performers and access to the neighboring Island H2O Water Park. When the festival gates close, guests get complimentary access to official afterparties each night. Crews can also book private villas or cottages that sleep up to 16 people, some with their own pool and hot tub.
EDC Orlando takes place November 6–8 at Tinker Field in downtown Orlando, with gates opening at 1 PM each day. The festival has grown from two days to three since 2019 and now draws roughly 100,000 fans a day. Set times are available in the Insomniac app.
