A Groovy House Rework Built on Live Instrumentation
Ella Romand has released a remix of Husa & Zeyada's 'More Love', transforming the original slow-tempo indie electronic track into an upbeat house production. The Miami-based French-Brazilian producer added a bassline crafted on the Moog Subsequent 37 and layered house piano chords over the original vocals, preserving the track's hypnotic indie dance character while pushing it toward the dancefloor.
"When I first heard 'More Love', I immediately connected with the track and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it to bring it into a more club vibe," Romand said. "I added a groovy bassline using the Moog Subsequent 37 and housey piano chords to keep the energy moving, while building on the original track and catchy vocals. I wanted the remix to feel uplifting and danceable, while still maintaining the original hypnotic indie dance character."
From Classical Training to Miami's Club Scene
Romand began learning piano by ear at five years old in southern Brazil, later pursuing classical training alongside early interests in Brazilian and pop music. Electronic music became a major influence after she discovered Sasha's 'Involver'. At 16, she moved to Curitiba and became involved with the city's club scene before studying music production in Brazil and later earning a music degree in San Diego. She continued her studies at Florida International University in Miami, specializing in Music Technology.
Her breakthrough came after winning Electric Pickle's mix competition in Miami, which led to a residency at Do Not Sit On The Furniture. Since then, she has performed at Ultra Music Festival, SXM Festival, Lightning In A Bottle, Cityfox Live, III Points, and Burning Man, with venue appearances at Brooklyn Mirage, Superior Ingredients, Vagalume, The Great Northern, and Cova Santa.
Blending Classical and Electronic with Live Performance
Live instrumentation has remained central to Romand's work. In 2015, she began incorporating keys and electronic instrumentation into DJ sets with electronic trio Dsided, an approach she later carried into her solo project. That background led to a collaboration with the New World Symphony, where Romand co-produced, composed, and performed alongside more than 80 musicians, combining classical and electronic music in a single performance.
She has shared lineups with Nora En Pure, Bob Moses, Sébastien Léger, Lee Burridge, Rodriguez Jr., Eli & Fur, Nick Warren, Damian Lazarus, and WhoMadeWho. Her catalogue includes releases through Manual Music, Go Deeva, Minds Alike, Redolent, and Husa Sounds.
Building Community Through Ellaments
Beyond her own productions, Romand runs Ellaments, which began as a radio platform introducing emerging artists across deep, organic, Afro, and melodic house to more than 500,000 plays. The project has since expanded into events combining electronic music with live musicians, visual artists, painters, and local vendors, with a focus on supporting emerging artists and sustainability initiatives.
The 'More Love' remix was released through Husa Sounds on September 18, 2026.
