A Riverfront Return for New Orleans Dance Music
Freaky Deaky NOLA will take over Mardi Gras World on October 30 and 31, bringing two stages of outdoor production to the riverfront. The festival is a collaboration between Disco Presents, Amps Events (Metropolitan NOLA), and Encore Entertainment, three groups that collectively bring over 50 years of experience in the New Orleans scene. The event marks the city's first large-scale outdoor dance festival since Buku and Voodoo ended.
Decades of History Behind the Partnership
The roots of this collaboration run deep. Rob Brunet of Amps Events pointed to Freakfest in 1998 — his first festival with Disco Donnie — which drew more than 10,000 attendees to the UNO Lakefront Arena. James "Disco Donnie" Estopinal, founder of Disco Presents, has been putting on shows in the city since the early '90s. Michael Ibarra, General Manager of The Metropolitan, noted that some connections between the teams go as far back as high school.
Ryan Roach, founder of Encore Entertainment, said his team has spent years building Halloween weekend into a destination for fans traveling in from across the country. He saw the partnership as an opportunity to expand on that foundation.
Tickets and What to Expect
No lineup has been announced yet. Past Freaky Deaky lineups in Texas have included Excision, deadmau5, Kaskade, REZZ, Above & Beyond, and Fisher. The festival will feature immersive visuals, themed experiences, and local vendors, with more details expected closer to the event.
Two-day blind presale passes start at $89, with payment plans available and deposits as low as $23. Fans who register early will be entered to win two GA passes before the lineup drops. VIP table inquiries can be made through Encore Entertainment or The Metropolitan. Freaky Deaky NOLA is also partnering with Boys of the Boot Inc., a nonprofit supporting special needs programs and law enforcement initiatives.
