A Return to Roots After Six Years

Hot Since 82 has announced Obsessions, his fourth studio album, arriving September 4. The nine-track project marks the UK house producer's first full-length since 2020's Recovery and positions itself as a return to the glossy, nostalgic house music that brought him widespread recognition in the early 2010s. Lyrical themes center on self-acceptance, while the production draws from the sound that first defined his career.

On-Time Delivery and Creative Pride

The album represents a personal milestone for the producer beyond its sonic content. "Obsessions features nine tracks and, remarkably for me, it's the only album I've ever completed and handed in on time," Hot Since 82 tells EDM.com. "Because of that, it feels like a real accomplishment and a complete body of work. I'm incredibly proud of it. There are lots of different shades and styles of house music across the album, but every track is connected by the same passion and love for the music."

The rollout begins with 'Shaded,' a soulful house track that samples 'Sounds of Eden' by Shades of Rhythm. The Peterborough trio were instrumental in shaping the sound of 90s UK rave during the height of British house music, and their influence threads through the new single's production.
