Ibiza's May Season Kicks Off with ANOTR, MEDUZA, and Dimitri Vegas

A gorgeous view, but probably not why you’re reading this article.

TL;DR

A writer visiting Ibiza in late May attended three events across the island's club circuit. ANOTR played back-to-back with Pawsa at [UNVRS] for the No Art takeover, Dimitri Vegas headlined Tomorrowland's Planaxis event at Ushuaïa, and MEDUZA and James Hype opened the OUR HOUSE residency at Hï Ibiza with hybrid-live and synchronized visual performances.

ANOTR Takes Over [UNVRS] with Pawsa

ANOTR headlined the No Art takeover at [UNVRS], filling the club's main room from the back staircase to the DJ booth. The duo played back-to-back with Pawsa, closing with a nine-minute mashup of 'Relax My Eyes' and 'Talk To You' that held the crowd's attention through the finale.

The venue's secondary space, the Bunker, offered a more intimate alternative. The hidden side stage features an oversized disco ball designed to look like a meteor crashed through the ceiling, with a sound system that rivals the main room. The No Art takeover returns to [UNVRS] once more this season on September 29.

Tomorrowland's Planaxis Theme Lands at Ushuaïa

Ushuaïa Ibiza hosted Tomorrowland's Planaxis underwater-themed event on a Wednesday afternoon, with a giant sea turtle installation swimming into the crowd. Wukong, Bassjackers, and Joel Corry warmed up the daytime festival stage before Dimitri Vegas closed the event with a set of EDM classics and practical effects.

The open-air venue sits directly on the coast, and hotel guests at the attached Ushuaïa property can watch performances from their balconies.

MEDUZA and James Hype Launch OUR HOUSE Residency at Hï

The OUR HOUSE residency opened at Hï Ibiza with MEDUZA delivering a hybrid-live performance that combined DJing, live piano, and dynamic performance elements. The trio played 'Piece Of Your Heart,' 'La La Land,' and 'Don't Wanna Go Home' to an enthusiastic floor.

James Hype followed with his SYNC show concept, which synchronizes visuals to actions made on the decks. He played crowd favorite 'Ferrari' and his latest single 'Seratonin,' using the Theatre at Hï's visual displays to match the music in real time.

The visit took place just before Ibiza's peak season, with the island already showing signs of the energy that defines its summer calendar. The No Art takeover returns September 29, while the OUR HOUSE residency continues through the season at Hï Ibiza.
