New Summit Bridges EDC Weekends

Insomniac and Amsterdam Dance Event have announced Map Point Summit, a three-day industry conference launching in Las Vegas in May 2027. The event will take place at Virgin Hotels between the two weekends of EDC Las Vegas, with EDC's Dusk weekend running May 14-16 and its Dawn weekend May 21-23.

The conference name references the underground rave tradition of map points, where attendees would gather at designated meeting spots to receive directions to secret party locations. Insomniac says the summit will serve a similar function for newcomers navigating the electronic music industry.

Rotella Makes Case for Independent Ecosystem

Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella unveiled the project during a keynote at ADE's 30th edition in Amsterdam. His session, titled The Future of Rave Culture and Why It Needs Its Own Industry, examined the challenges facing independent promoters and argued for a dedicated business infrastructure.

"Rave culture was built by ravers, for ravers," Rotella said. "It started as a grassroots, community-driven movement with its own values, spirit, and way of doing things. As our scene has grown, I believe it's become increasingly important to protect what made it special in the first place. That's why Map Point Summit means so much to me."

He continued: "We need to support independent promoters, share knowledge, create opportunities for the next generation, and work together to build an industry that allows rave culture to thrive on its own terms. I'm excited to partner with ADE to help bring that vision to life."

Programming Details Forthcoming

The program is expected to include panel discussions, educational sessions, creative workshops and networking opportunities. Speakers, full programming details and ticketing information have not yet been announced. Registration for updates is available through Insomniac's website.
