TL;DR

Jamie Campbell Bower, known for playing Vecna in Stranger Things, performed a surprise DJ set at IGN's Comic-Con party at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. The actor played dubstep, drum & bass, and French house tracks including Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and Justice's "Genesis." Bower, 37, said he hadn't DJed since he was 18, when he worked the London indie scene.

From Vecna to the DJ Booth

Jamie Campbell Bower traded scares for dance floors this weekend at Comic-Con, stepping behind the decks for a surprise DJ set at IGN's invite-only party at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. Guests expecting themed cocktails and photo ops got a full set from the Stranger Things villain, who spun dubstep, drum & bass, and French house including Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and Justice's "Genesis."

The 37-year-old actor, whose portrayal of the telekinetic villain Vecna turned him into a household name, has deep roots in music that predate his screen work. He DJed as a teenager in London before fronting punk band Counterfeit for years, and currently releases post-hardcore music under the solo project BloodMagic.

First Set in Nearly Two Decades

In a post-performance interview, Bower revealed the Comic-Con appearance marked his first DJ set since he was 18. He recalled working the London indie scene at a club night called Frog at Astoria 2, also known as Mean Fiddler, a venue that no longer exists. When asked about his most memorable DJ experience, he mentioned meeting and hanging out with Skrillex.

The DJ set capped off a busy day for Bower, who earlier appeared in Hall H to announce he is joining Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power as a major new cast member. He noted that at one point during his set, he spotted Daniel Weyman, who plays Gandalf The Grey in the Prime Video series, in the crowd.
