Court ruling ends years-long trademark dispute
Jeffrey Sutorius has legally regained the right to perform under the Dash Berlin name after a January 2026 decision by the Court of Appeals in The Hague. The ruling, referenced as case IEF 23235, ends a nearly decade-long trademark battle over the iconic trance project.
Sutorius originally left the band in 2018 and became embroiled in a legal dispute with former partners Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg over the use of the name. He briefly regained control in 2019 but lost the title again and began touring under his legal name after 2021.
Trance community rallies behind comeback announcement
Sutorius teased the project's return via social media with a post that read, "The meaning of life is to move on. JEFF= back, more info soon." The announcement on the official Dash Berlin Instagram drew support from notable trance artists including Jorn van Deyhoven, Blastoyz, and Myon. The post has garnered over 4,000 likes.
Legacy of classic trance anthems
Dash Berlin built a dedicated fanbase over two decades with tracks like "Man on the Run," "Till the Sky Falls Down," and "Never Cry Again." The legal victory marks a new chapter for the project, with fans eager to see what direction Sutorius takes next.
No timeline has been announced for new music or tour dates under the Dash Berlin name.
