TL;DR

Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort & Casino will close permanently on November 21 after ten years of operation. MGM Resorts has no immediate plans for the 24,000-square-foot space, and sources suggest Tao Group is shifting focus to nightlife concepts at Hard Rock Las Vegas.

Final Night Set for F1 Grand Prix Weekend

Jewel, the nightclub on the ground floor of Aria Resort & Casino, will close permanently on November 21 after a decade of operation, MGM Resorts announced in a press release. The final night coincides with the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, one of the busiest tourism weekends of the year in the city.

MGM said it has no immediate plans for the 24,000-square-foot space and directed guests to other bars at the resort, including Easy's Cocktail Lounge and Lift Bar. Alibi Cocktail Social, which closed earlier this year, is set to reopen on November 13 with a 1920s theme.

From Hip-Hop Roots to EDM Bookings

Jewel opened in May 2016 in the space once occupied by Haze, a club that debuted with Aria in 2009. The Rockwell Group redesigned the room with two levels, LED lighting and five themed skybox suites. It became known for hip-hop, drawing performers such as Usher and Nelly, before booking major EDM acts like Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers.

Back in 2022, UFC CEO Dana White rented Jewel for his daughter's 16th birthday party. The club has also hosted celebrations for the Golden State Warriors after their 2017 title and the Las Vegas Aces after their 2023 WNBA championship.

Shift Toward Hard Rock Las Vegas

MGM did not reveal why it is closing the club. Its departure follows that of Drai's, another hip-hop venue, which gave up its rooftop location at the Cromwell around this time last year and returned to its original basement space.

A person familiar with Tao Group's plans had previously told Casinos.com that the company "has been focusing more of its attention on nightlife and dayclub concepts planned for Hard Rock Las Vegas, which could be part of why Jewel didn't make the cut going into 2027." Event listings from Tao show Kid Conrad as the last scheduled headliner.
