From Grunge to Global Stages
Before John Martin became one of electronic music's most recognizable voices, he was playing in a grunge and British rock band called Steroids. It wasn't until 2010 that he discovered electronic music and began writing it alongside his close friend Michel Zitron. Within months, he was working with some of the biggest names in the scene.
His roots in electronic music trace back to 2011, when he co-wrote Fade Into Darkness alongside Avicii and Zitron, though he didn't sing on the track. That same year, he linked up with Swedish House Mafia for the first time, providing vocals for Save The World. In 2012, he became an instant icon with his work on Don't You Worry Child, a track he both wrote and sang. His voice on that record has become irreplaceable, getting crowds around the world to sing along every time it plays.
The Collaborations That Defined a Decade
Martin's work on festival anthems continued with Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash on Reload. Over the years, he's become a regular collaborator with Martin Garrix, providing vocals for tracks like Now That I've Found You, Higher Ground, and Won't Let You Go, while also writing Carry You, Hold On, and Home.
The list of artists he's worked with includes David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Gryffin, Afrojack, and Alesso. At Tomorrowland this year, Martin performed several times across both weekends, showcasing old, new, and upcoming projects, including collaborations with ARTBAT and Timmy Trumpet.

Over 15 years, Martin's stature has grown as he continues to work with more big names in the scene. His name on a record signals a certain standard of vocal performance and songwriting, and his contributions to tracks like Don't You Worry Child have cemented his place as one of the genre's most important vocalists.
