John Summit has cancelled his remaining August festival appearances to rest and prepare for his upcoming CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour this autumn. The Chicago-born house act shared the news in an Instagram Story, confirming he will no longer appear at Pukkelpop in Belgium, Creamfields in the UK, Touquet Music Beach Festival in France, and BBC Radio 1 Dance: Malta.
"After much thought I have decided to take the rest of August off of touring to rest and get ready for my upcoming arena tour," Summit wrote. "I rarely ever do this but there is so much work to do for the tour and I need to recharge my battery a bit before this fall. Thanks for understanding."
Four High-Profile Summer Slots Come Off the Schedule
The four affected dates represent some of the most sought-after summer bookings on the European festival circuit. Pukkelpop and Creamfields in particular are two of the continent's flagship dance music events, making the pull-out a notable one. Summit tours at a punishing pace and has shown few signs of slowing across a relentless 2026 schedule, which makes a clean sweep of four festival slots a clear indicator of just how seriously he is treating the arena run.
His September dates across Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and the US remain on the schedule as of writing, with the CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour itself kicking off on October 1.
The Scale of CTRL ESCAPE Explains the Decision
The CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour is John Summit's most ambitious live production to date. Announced earlier this year, the run draws visual inspiration from the corporate world of Severance, transforming arena floors into something closer to a rave built from the inside of a cubicle. That level of production design requires weeks of rehearsal and technical build time that a packed August touring schedule simply would not allow.
The decision also comes during a period in which Summit has rarely been out of the conversation. Earlier this summer he publicly called out Pete Tong over an alleged remix dispute involving Everything But The Girl's "Missing," a situation that drew significant attention across the electronic music world before Franky Rizardo ultimately withdrew his version of the track from release.
Ticket holders for the four affected festivals should monitor communications from organisers for updates in the coming days.
