King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have added a second rave show to their New York run, this time at Brooklyn's Under the K Bridge Park on August 23. The date follows a sold-out three-day run at Forest Hills Stadium.
From Garage Rock to the Dancefloor
The prolific Australian band has spent over a decade mutating from garage-rock scrappers into a genre-devouring machine, releasing nearly 30 albums that swing from thrash metal to neo-psychedelia to orchestral music. Lately their gravitational pull has bent toward the dancefloor, with modular synths joining the guitars onstage and four-on-the-floor beats creeping into the setlists.
A Venue Built for Raves
Under the K Bridge Park, the industrial waterfront venue tucked beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge, feels tailor-made for that shift. Thanks to DJ sets from Tiësto, Chris Lake, The Chainsmokers and many more, it has emerged as a beloved destination for NYC's electronic dance music community, giving the show more in common with a warehouse rave than a rock concert.
An artist pre-sale kicks off Wednesday, July 8 at 12pm ET, with general public tickets available Friday, July 10 at 10am ET. The Forest Hills show the night prior is also billed as a rave show.
