Berlin techno producer Max Kobosil has announced his departure from 44 Label Group, the fashion and music brand he co-founded with the Antonioli Group in 2021. The split leaves the Antonioli Group with full ownership of the clothing side, while Kobosil retains complete control of the '44' brand for music releases and events worldwide.
Division of the Brand
Since its founding, 44 Label Group has become one of the most visible brands in the techno scene, with its signature logo worn by artists including Adam Beyer, Kevin de Vries, and Tale of Us. Over the past five years, Kobosil served as creative director for the clothing line while releasing music through the label.
The Antonioli Group shared on social media that they were proud to have Kobosil as part of their leadership team and reaffirmed the company's values. Kobosil released his own statement explaining the departure. Under the new arrangement, Kobosil controls 100% of events worldwide under the 44 brand.
Fashion Side Continues With New Collaborations
The brand drew inspiration from the zip code of Neukölln, the Berlin neighborhood where Kobosil is from. After launching in 2021 with a 70-piece collection, 44 Label Group held four fashion shows at Milan Men's Fashion Week between 2022 and 2023.
The fashion side continues to receive support from artists including Kobosil, Amelie Lens, Anyma, and Somewhen. The brand is releasing a capsule collection with DJ Tennis and his label Life and Death called Dissent, the first in a series exploring the relationship between artists, music, fashion, and culture.
The Antonioli Group owns the physical 44 Label Group store in Milan, the restaurant Sogni, and Volt Nightclub, where Antonioli and Kobosil first connected before launching the label.
