TL;DR

KODEX: TERMINAL debuted August 22 at XOX Arena in Kuala Lumpur, presenting a dedicated harder styles festival with Rooler, Dual Damage, Hard Driver, DJ Isaac, Miss K8, Dimitri K, Yoshiko, and Micro. The airport-themed production featured a 180-degree LED installation and laser sequences, while the lineup spanned hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore, and uptempo, reflecting the growth of harder dance music across Southeast Asia.

Airport-Themed Production at XOX Arena

The TERMINAL concept gave KODEX a visual identity rooted in air travel, with departure-board graphics, aircraft imagery, and flight-related visuals displayed across screens inside XOX Arena. A 180-degree LED installation extended above the audience, connecting the stage to the wider production setup. The panoramic screens behind the artists maintained the flight theme throughout the night, while overhead LED structures and lasers stretched across the arena during peak sequences.

Four Styles, One Night

The lineup covered hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore, and uptempo across a single evening. DJ Isaac, Dual Damage, and Rooler represented the hardstyle and rawstyle spectrum, with tracks including Harder State of Mind, It Will Be OK, Get Wrecked 2024 Tool, and SAVE ME in rotation. Hard Driver and Miss K8 brought additional range to the bill, while Dimitri K and Yoshiko closed with an uptempo-focused back-to-back set that marked their first B2B in the region.

Scene Growth in Southeast Asia

Presented by Evolution Events Asia, the festival drew a crowd engaged with the harder styles, while production and event management remained consistent throughout the night. Staff presence and communication before and during the event contributed to the overall experience for attendees and media.

KODEX: TERMINAL took place August 22 in Kuala Lumpur, marking the first edition of a festival dedicated entirely to harder styles in Malaysia.
