KODEX: TERMINAL Brings Hard Dance Festival To Malaysia

A Dedicated Hard Dance Platform for Southeast Asia

Evolution Events Asia has announced KODEX: TERMINAL, a new hard dance festival set for XOX Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on August 22, 2026. The event brings together eight international artists across hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore and uptempo, backed by a custom production concept inspired by air travel. The festival forms part of Evolution Events Asia's wider ambition to create more opportunities for large-scale hard dance events across Southeast Asia, where dedicated festivals for these genres remain limited.

Evolution Events Asia previously produced Hardmission: Destiny in Bangkok at BITEC in 2024, bringing major international names from hardstyle and hardcore to Thailand. KODEX builds on that experience as a dedicated festival platform created with the longer-term goal of growing the harder styles scene across the region. The timing has become particularly relevant following the disruption surrounding Defqon.1 2026, which was felt throughout the global hardstyle community, including listeners across Asia who regularly travel internationally for the genre's biggest festivals.

Lineup Spans Rawstyle to Uptempo

The first KODEX: TERMINAL lineup features Rooler, Dual Damage, Hard Driver, DJ Isaac, Miss K8, Dimitri K, Yoshiko and Micro, covering different areas of the harder styles across one event. From the current rawstyle sound of Rooler and Dual Damage to established hardstyle names including Hard Driver and DJ Isaac, alongside hardcore and uptempo from Miss K8, Dimitri K and Yoshiko, the lineup reflects the wider range of music KODEX wants to bring together under one festival.

Airport-Inspired Production and Visuals

The TERMINAL concept takes inspiration from the anticipation of air travel through departure boards, aircraft imagery and cinematic animations. Inside XOX Arena, those visuals will be supported by a 180-degree LED installation extending above the audience and a panoramic main screen, before the event closes with an end-of-show laser spectacle.

For Evolution Events Asia, KODEX is intended to go beyond a single event in Malaysia. Following previous productions such as Hardmission Thailand, the aim is to continue creating dedicated opportunities for the harder styles community across Southeast Asia and build a festival platform where hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore and uptempo can come together on a larger scale.
