Doubling Down on Collaboration
Cross Pollination first arrived in 2020, bringing together seven collaborative tracks from Lane 8 and artists on the This Never Happened label. The sequel expands that vision with 14 tracks, doubling the original's scope and pulling in a wider circle of collaborators from the TNH family.
Leading up to the full release, several tracks had already surfaced: "Disappear," "Penguin Parade," "World Is Mine," "Empty Theatre, Pretty Picture," "Adelie," and "Tripwires." The album also includes a reprise of "Disappear," a collaboration with Kasbo and BJOERN.
IDs From Mixtapes and Live Sets
Seven previously unreleased tracks make their official debut on Cross Pollination II. "Purple Pepper" with PARIS and "Candy" with Quentin Quivera both appeared in the Spring 2026 mixtape. "The Doubt" with Jyll and Gui Boratto first surfaced in the Winter 2025 mixtape, while the Fall 2025 edition featured "Maglia Rosa" with Grigoré and "Pulsar" with Teho. Other new additions include "Sol" with Cornelius SA and Alan Green.
Emotional Weight and Dancefloor Drive
"The Doubt" pairs Jyll's vocal with production that lets the emotion sit front and center. Earlier this week, Jyll shared that she wrote the track about feeling like you're "too much" for the people around you—too emotional, too intense, too hard to understand.
"Something In The Air" with Rae Morris, who previously worked with Lane 8 on "No Fun," leans into club-ready energy. The kick and synth work push the track into dancefloor territory, while Morris' vocal adds a melancholic contrast that floats above the rhythm.
"Candy" with Quentin Quivera centers on a melancholic violin line that carries the track's emotional core, while the beat and rhythm keep it locked into late-night momentum. "Pulsar" with Teho builds around a pulsing synth line that evolves steadily, delivering uplifting energy suited for day parties and packed clubs alike.
Cross Pollination II is out now on This Never Happened.
