New York-based DJ and producer Lars has released "No Stranger," a tech-house single built around a deep bassline, tight percussion, and a vocal hook designed to stick. The track arrives June 17, just ahead of his debut at North Coast Music Festival in Chicago over Labor Day weekend.
A Club Track With Crossover Ambition
The production leans on driving low-end and tech-house rhythms, but the vocal element pushes it beyond typical peak-hour fare. Lars describes the intent as creating something that works in a dark room while retaining melodic memorability after the set ends.
"I wanted to create something that felt heavy and atmospheric enough for a dark room, but had that lyrical 'stickiness' that stays with you long after the lights come up," Lars explains.
15 Years and a Stacked Resume
Lars holds dual American and Norwegian roots and has spent 15 years behind the decks. He's supported Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, MEDUZA, and MK, and played rooms including Schimanski, NEBULA, and Paradise Club in New York, plus Sound Bar in Chicago. The Groove Cartel has tagged him an "Artist of the Future."
"No Stranger" is out now. Lars will perform at North Coast Music Festival in Chicago this Labor Day weekend, sharing the bill with Fisher, ILLENIUM, and GRiZ.
