Lost Lands has confirmed plans to expand its Crater stage once more ahead of the festival's ninth edition this September in Thornville, Ohio. The organizers posted an aerial photo of the stage's laser show with the caption, "What if we took The Crater… and made it bigger," though no technical details have been released.
From debut to third iteration
The Crater launched in 2024 as a 360° structure ringed by lasers, designed to give attendees an immersive experience from any position in the crowd. In 2025, the festival widened the stage footprint to accommodate full pyrotechnics and improve sight-lines. Despite those changes, heavy foot traffic around the area has prompted a third round of upgrades, including redesigned pedestrian pathways for 2026.
Broader venue infrastructure
Legend Valley has also invested in permanent infrastructure, including a new pedestrian tunnel under Route 13 that connects campgrounds to the festival grounds. The tunnel replaces the temporary footbridge used in previous years.
Lost Lands runs September 18–20, 2026. The festival is produced by Excision's team and remains one of North America's largest dubstep-focused events.
