Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran have released an acoustic version of "Repeat It," a companion to the original track that dropped earlier this month after more than a decade in development.
Stripped-back arrangement puts vocals front and center
The acoustic version opens with a tender guitar riff. While the original moves with an upbeat, driving tempo, this wistful version deconstructs the beat and puts Sheeran's silky voice front and center. The feeling that powered the original is still there, but it's more intimate in the stripped-back framework.
Rooftop performance filmed in Santiago
The streaming release arrives alongside a performance video filmed on a rooftop in Santiago, Chile, where the two artists sat side by side and strummed acoustic guitars underneath the capital's glimmering cityscape. The video was filmed to celebrate the birthday of Garrix, who turned 30.
The acoustic version of "Repeat It" is available to stream now.
