Daft Punk Remains the Unattainable Goal
In an interview with Toronto's KiSS 92.5, Martin Garrix confirmed that his new album will release in late 2026 and named Daft Punk as his dream collaborator. The Dutch producer called the disbanded French duo formative to both electronic music and his own career.
"I'd love to work with Daft Punk," Garrix told the station. "They've meant so much for electronic music and for me as well. It would be incredible."
Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo formally dissolved their partnership in 2021, making the scenario unlikely. Still, Garrix grew up in an era shaped by the duo's work, and citing them as aspirational collaborators reflects how durable that influence has been.
First Album Since Sentio
The forthcoming album will be Garrix's first since 2022's Sentio. He said the project includes collaborators with whom he "never even thought" he'd share a studio. The producer recently joined forces with Ed Sheeran to release "Repeat It," a track the duo initially revealed in 2014.
Garrix has not announced the album's title or specific release date. The project is expected more towards the end of 2026.
