TL;DR

“With so much crazy stuff happening in the world, I think everybody wants and needs music as an outlet”

From Tomorrowland ID to Official Release

After debuting at Tomorrowland Belgium earlier this summer, Martin Garrix's "This Dream Of You" is now officially available. The progressive house track features Garrix's own vocals alongside warm melodies, with lyrics that focus on finding hope in someone when everything else feels uncertain.

Garrix first teased the track through an orchestral opening before later playing it in full at Ushuaïa Ibiza. It quickly became one of the most anticipated IDs of the festival season.

Garrix Steps Behind the Mic

One of the most personal aspects of "This Dream Of You" comes from Garrix singing on the track himself. He has spent years producing his own releases, but recording his vocals pushed him into unfamiliar territory. Garrix described singing as "very far out of my comfort zone." What began as an experiment eventually became part of the finished track, giving the song a connection to him beyond production alone.

That interest in singing had already become part of Garrix's creative process before the track came out. He had shared clips of himself singing and playing guitar, showing another side of his musical development outside his usual work as a producer and DJ. With "This Dream Of You," that experimentation became part of an official release.

Part of a Broader Album Vision

"This Dream Of You" is expected to appear on Garrix's upcoming second studio album, currently planned for release later in 2026. It will be his first full-length album since Sentio in 2022. He has said the new project will take a different direction from the more aggressive sound of his debut.

Speaking about the album earlier this year, Garrix described it as "more accessible" and "fun." He said its wider idea centres on joy, connection and unity. Garrix explained, "With so much crazy stuff happening in the world, I think everybody wants and needs music as an outlet."

Garrix has already released several major tracks throughout 2026, including "Catharina," his collaboration with Ed Sheeran, "Repeat It," "Bizarre" with Madonna, and "Fireflies" with U2. Both "Catharina" and "This Dream Of You" are expected to feature on the album, giving listeners an early idea of how broad the project could be. More details on the complete tracklist are expected in the coming months.
