From Event Series to Record Label
Mau P has launched Baddest Behavior Records, turning his event series into a full record label. The imprint is designed to give emerging producers and unreleased music he supports a direct route to release. Mau P described Baddest Behavior Records as being "for the culture, for the scene."
The label follows several years of Baddest Behavior events, which have become a regular part of Mau P's touring schedule. He has hosted editions in New York, Miami, Denver, and Los Angeles, and held a residency at Pacha Ibiza. The events gave him a platform to curate lineups and showcase the music and artists he backs.
Trademark Filing Showed Plans Were Already in Motion
The move into recorded music was signaled earlier when Mau P B.V. filed a trademark application in 2024 covering record label services, music publishing, recording, live events, and DJ services. The filing showed that Baddest Behavior was always intended to expand beyond live shows.
As unreleased music from producers continued to reach him, Mau P began publicly considering starting a label. He has spoken about wanting to provide the same opportunities that helped him early in his career, particularly for records he believes deserve wider support.
What Comes Next
Mau P directed followers to the label's private Instagram account as part of the announcement. The first artists and releases have not yet been revealed. Since breaking through with 'Drugs From Amsterdam' in 2022, Mau P has released through Repopulate Mars, Defected, Diynamic, and Insomniac Records, and regularly plays unreleased IDs in his sets. Baddest Behavior Records now gives some of that music a path to official release.
