MiNT, the Leeds-based club brand that has spent two decades building a reputation in Yorkshire's electronic music scene, is opening its most ambitious venue yet. MiNT XL will take over the former PRYZM nightclub in the heart of Leeds, offering 2,500 capacity across three rooms when it opens in September 2026.
Three Rooms, New Directions
The venue's multi-room layout will allow MiNT to expand beyond its traditional house and techno programming for the first time. Mikey McMahon, marketing manager at MiNT, says the three-room setup will let the brand explore different genres and live music while maintaining its electronic music core.
"The three-room setup definitely helps, as it allows us to programme something different in each room and give people the option to experience different sounds, atmospheres, and environments throughout the night," McMahon explains. "One thing we're really excited about is expanding into new genres and live music, which is something we haven't explored properly before."
The venue will feature a Funktion-One Vero sound system. McMahon notes that the production capabilities will exceed those of MiNT Warehouse, which he describes as "more of a traditional, no-nonsense clubbing experience."
Extended Sets and No-Phones Policy
Despite the larger capacity, MiNT plans to maintain the intimate atmosphere that has defined the brand since MiNT Club opened in 1998, hosting artists including Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, and Luciano. The brand later launched MiNT Warehouse and MiNT Festival in 2012.
"I think we've built a reputation over the years for putting on great line-ups, but moving forward we're looking to move away slightly from stacked line-ups and focus more on headline performances and extended sets that go beyond the standard two-hour slot," McMahon says. "We think our audience would rather see their favourite artists play longer, more immersive sets and really take people on a journey."
The brand's no-phones policy will remain in place for specific electronic music and flagship events.
Opening Night Lineup
The inaugural party will feature Enzo Siragusa, Craig Richards, Fumiya Tanaka, and Sonja Moonear. McMahon says success for the venue will be measured by more than ticket sales: "Success for us is about diversity in programming and creating something that goes further than just house and techno … being able to collaborate with different people, host a wide variety of events, and continue evolving creatively is just as important as ticket sales or line-ups."
MiNT XL opens in September 2026. Yorkshire has produced DJs including Hot Since 82 and Paul Woolford, and venues like The Warehouse and The Orbit have shaped the region's electronic music culture over the years.
