Discovery in Goodlettsville
Trevor Lines of South Bend, Indiana was located Saturday night inside his white Lexus RX350 near a skate park in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced. Officers who approached the vehicle described the 28-year-old as disoriented and unable to recount what had transpired over the previous 48 hours.
Disappearance from East Nashville Rental
The incident began early Thursday morning at a rental property on Douglas Avenue, where Lines was staying for Bonnaroo, which began later that day. According to police, Lines' friends left the short-term rental around 5am to search for someone's misplaced phone. When they returned after 6am, Lines and his vehicle were gone. His phone, medication, and clothing remained inside the residence.
The group filed a missing persons report Thursday morning and began calling area hospitals. Kyle Smith, Lines' brother, told local news outlets that the disappearance of the car was the first clue that something was seriously wrong. The sudden absence, coupled with a known history of mental health struggles, prompted an urgent search campaign across the region.
Multi-City Search Effort
Family members canvassed the East Nashville neighborhood and the Bonnaroo festival grounds as the search expanded. Metropolitan Nashville Police Department investigators traced the vehicle using automated cameras in neighboring municipalities, detecting the Lexus in Mt. Juliet on Friday morning and in Goodlettsville later that afternoon.
Smith posted on the Bonnaroo subreddit just before 7:30pm on June 13, confirming police found Lines "alive and uninjured, just very lost and confused about who he is and where he was." Lines' mother immediately traveled to Tennessee to be by his side. Bonnaroo took place June 11-14 at Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee, with headline sets from Skrillex, GRiZ, and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
