A new rave series designed for mothers is bringing the dancefloor to dinnertime. Mommy Rave is an early-evening dance experience that opens doors at 6:30pm and wraps by 9pm, allowing attendees to make it home for bedtime.
Format and Accessibility
The events are billed as "created by moms, for moms," though organizers welcome all women and gender-expansive ravers regardless of parental status. Capacity is capped just under 150 guests, and drinks and hors d'oeuvres are included in the ticket price. There is no dress code beyond feeling good in your body, which means even pajamas qualify.
Wellness and Dance Culture
The concept aligns with what the Global Wellness Summit recently named the "festivalization of wellness," one of its top trends for 2026, with somatic dance events reframing joy as medicine instead of purely reward. A recent study published in the journal Psychology of Music found that women over the age of 40 keep coming back to clubs and music festivals to improve their mental health. 65.9% characterized the experience of attending EDM events as "spiritual" while 62.9% revealed they go clubbing to escape the realities of life and 58.3% said they could be a different version of themselves in the club environment.
Founders and Expansion Plans
The series is the brainchild of Flow Life Retreats founder Eva Payne alongside co-creators Erin Rose and Lorry Green. Local DJ Kat Walsh, who performs under the alias Kat's Meow, will spin the festivities.
Mommy Rave launches this month in Southern California with two Conejo Valley events scheduled for July 10th and August 7th. Organizers have confirmed future raves in Orange County and the Pacific Northwest are among their next offerings, with an open call for additional cities.
