Independent electronic artist N1ckatN1ght has landed at No. 1 on the Top 100 Amazon USA Dance & Electronic chart with his new single "Love Is Louder", released worldwide on October 9, 2026. The track blends house, electronic dance music, and melodic dance-pop with what the artist describes as a "smooth, sexy, almost Kenny G-like sensibility paired with a house beat."
A Foster-Care Origin Story
N1ckatN1ght and his sister became wards of the state at age seven, spending years in Michigan group homes before entering foster care at fourteen. His foster father, Jeff Wood, was a working DJ in Charlotte, Michigan, and introduced him to a wide range of genres. "That's a big reason my music crosses styles today," N1ckatN1ght explains. "I learned to connect with the feeling in a song, whether it made you want to dance, reflect, or sing along."
That early instability shaped his creative mission. "Because a sense of belonging wasn't something I could take for granted growing up, creating that exact feeling for his listeners became his mission," the artist says. "'Love Is Louder' is meant to make you move, smile, and feel great. There's depth behind it, but there's also permission to simply enjoy yourself."
From Billboard Runs to Personal Tragedy
N1ckatN1ght handled the songwriting, production, and mixing of "Love Is Louder" himself. "Being involved in each stage lets me carry the original emotion through the entire recording," he explains. "Whether I'm working on a worship song or a house track, I'm thinking about how the words and music will make someone feel."
His catalog includes tracks like "Believe," "Ride All Night," and a collaboration with Nik11 on "Kickback". Operating independently, he secured Universal Music distribution through Tiffany Gaines and saw "Ride All Night" chart for 128 weeks on national rock airplay. In 2019, while shooting the "Kickback" video in Las Vegas, his fiancée unexpectedly passed away. "Kickback" went on to achieve success on the Billboard charts, but N1ckatN1ght was submerged in grief and unable to participate in the promotional tour. "That experience is part of why the emotional purpose of my music matters so much to me today," he shares candidly. "I know that someone can be carrying something painful that nobody else sees. When I say I want my songs to uplift people, that comes from a personal place."
Live Dates on the Horizon
N1ckatN1ght is planning live performances for 2027, with dates and locations to be announced. "I'm excited to bring this music to people in person," he says of his upcoming return to the stage. "My goal is to create performances where people feel connected, whether they're singing along to something meaningful or losing themselves in a dance song."
