Seven-Year Break Ends at Melkweg

Noisia are returning to the stage this December, with members Martijn van Sonderen, Nik Roos, and Thijs de Vlieger reuniting for their first live performance at Melkweg Amsterdam on December 4, 2026. The Dutch drum & bass trio stepped away from the project seven years ago after reaching what they described as a creative deadlock.

From Creative Standstill to Fresh Start

In a statement shared with their community, the trio reflected on the pressures that led to their split. "We tried everything we could to get us out of the deadlock we were in. We had to admit the answer wasn't in more trying, in more force. It was in letting go. We needed a full stop," they explained. At the time, the members parted ways with no intention of reforming, branching into solo production and independent creative projects.

Despite pursuing separate paths, the trio maintained their bond and continued running their label, Vision Recordings, from shared studio space in the same building. Over time, casual conversations and mutual admiration for each other's growth reignited their collaborative spark, leading them back into the studio together with renewed energy.

Testing New Tracks on the Dancefloor

Rather than releasing new material directly to streaming platforms, Noisia plan to test and refine tracks during live sets, creating a feedback loop between the crowd and the studio. The December show at Melkweg marks the first step in this new chapter for the legendary drum & bass act.
