Paul Oakenfold on EDC's 30th Anniversary and New Collaborations

Celebrating Three Decades at EDC Las Vegas

Paul Oakenfold returned to EDC Las Vegas for the festival's 30th anniversary in 2026, performing at Quantum Valley and reflecting on his long history with Insomniac. Speaking backstage, Oakenfold praised founder Pasquale Rotella's vision and noted the mix of original pioneers and next-generation talent on the lineup. When asked how many editions he's played, he laughed and admitted he's lost count.

For his anniversary set, Oakenfold planned to blend brand new music with classics and his own catalog. The performance was streamed live on YouTube via the EDC site, giving fans worldwide access to the milestone moment.

New Single and Transmission 2 Mix Album

Oakenfold used the EDC stage to world premiere the up-tempo club mix of his new single "Masquerade," set for release in June. He explained that he produced two versions: a down-tempo radio-friendly mix and the high-energy club version debuted at Quantum Valley.

At the end of July, Oakenfold will release Transmission 2, a mix album built around collaborations with Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, and Ferry Corsten. The project reinterprets classic tunes from earlier eras with fresh production ideas.

World Cup Tour and the State of EDM

Oakenfold also announced a North American tour with The Crystal Method and Liquid Todd timed to the World Cup. The three artists plan to perform at fan zones, games, and parties throughout the tournament. As a football fan himself, Oakenfold said he's looking forward to combining his two passions.

Asked about the current state of electronic music, Oakenfold pointed to continued global growth, citing emerging markets in China and India alongside a resurgent scene in Germany. His message to fans was simple: "Thank you for your support. Love you, love you, love you, and I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor."

The Quantum Valley set marked another chapter in Oakenfold's decades-long relationship with EDC and Insomniac. "Masquerade" arrives in June, with Transmission 2 following in late July.
