Police Search for Woman Missing From Shambhala Music Festival

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have issued a public appeal for information about Kayla Boisvert, a 28-year-old woman from Ontario who vanished from the 2026 Shambhala Music Festival at the Salmo River Ranch.

Timeline of Disappearance

According to social media posts from her friend Ming Liu, Boisvert was with a group at the festival's Pagoda stage for the start of a Kai Wachi set at 12:15am Monday. The group later moved to the Village stage for a Ganja White Night performance around 1am. Liu said the last text message he received from Boisvert was sent at 3am, though it remains unclear exactly when she became separated from her friends.

Description and Search Efforts

Police describe Boisvert as 6 feet tall with brown eyes and black hair styled with long blonde braids. She was last seen wearing a blue head scarf, several multicolored scarves, an oversized graphic t-shirt with a design of a red panda, and a Champion fanny pack. Liu added that Boisvert is of Jamaican descent and weighs between 160 and 170 pounds.

Shambhala organizers announced Tuesday that they have joined the search. "We appreciate the concern, support, and offers of assistance we have received from our community," the festival said in a statement posted to Facebook. "Our team is working closely with the RCMP and all responding public safety agencies and continues to provide every assistance available to support the ongoing search."
