Purple Disco Machine has announced COSMOTROPIA, his fourth studio album, scheduled for release on April 30th, 2027. The record takes its cues from cosmic disco and space-rock sounds that dominated the 1970s and '80s, drawn from the albums his parents played during his childhood in Germany.
Inspiration from Kraftwerk, Jarre, and Pink Floyd
The producer cited albums by Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Kraftwerk as formative influences, combined with his own research into early European disco. According to a press release from Sony Music, the album is steeped in nostalgic cosmic disco and space-rock sounds from that era.
'Test My Luck' Featuring MEEK Arrives as Lead Single
Alongside the album announcement, Purple Disco Machine released the lead single 'Test My Luck', which takes a different direction from the album's space-age themes. The bubbly track features London-based singer-songwriter MEEK, who has previously collaborated with Martin Garrix, Alan Walker, R3HAB, and Rita Ora.
European Tour Planned for Fall 2027
Purple Disco Machine will support the album with an expansive European tour in fall 2027, featuring a full band, dancers, and vocalists. Dates in Germany have been announced, with a fan presale currently underway ahead of general ticket sales on October 7th.
COSMOTROPIA arrives April 30th, 2027 via Sony Music.
